Flushed coolant now heater doesn't work??

Summary:
Last week I received a low engine coolant light. I filled the coolant. The next day I removed the coolant cap to check the level and most of the coolant I put in overflowed. Took it to the dealer and they found two leaks in the hose. Dealer called me today and said my heater isn't working and says I need to repair my heater coil to the tune of several thousand dollars. I have no mechanical experience so I'm hoping forum members can help. All advise is appreciated.

^That would not look good on the dealer if they weren't able to properly bleed an N62...

Freaking scammers.... To bleed you leave cap off and run the engine warm with heater on, it's self bleeding but they probably didn't do it with the heater on

Don’t drive the car.

Let it cool down, mix 50/50 BMW coolant and distilled water. Open the reservoir and turn the car on with the heat on full blast. It may take a while for the engine to warm up and the thermostat to open for it to suck any coolant out of the reservoir (if any). Continue adding mixed coolant to the full mark. Check it again after driving it a day or so.

There is a proper bleeding process for these cars that is not listed above. it takes about 11-12 minutes and involves this.

Connect a battery charger to the battery or jumper cable ports under the hood.
Turn ignition to the ON position. If equipped with a START button, push button (with key fob installed or active), but do not depress the brake or clutch pedals. This will turn the ignition on, but not crank the starter.
Set heater temp to MAX and blower to low speed.
Press the accelerator pedal to the floor for 10 seconds.
The self bleeding procedure will begin (via the electric water pump) and will run for about 12 minutes. During this time the water pump will alternately turn on and off. Do not remove cap while bleeding procedure is running.
When bleeding is complete, double check coolant level and adjust as required. Replace coolant cap.
