Blower motor?
Need a little help my wife 2008 x5 3.0si blower stays on even when the car is turned off this morning the battery was completely dead. Would the blower alone cause this? Any suggestions? Thanks

The blower motor would definitely drain the battery if left on overnight. Possibly a faulty switch or other short in the wiring? If you need to keep the battery charged long enough to drive to a repair location you can pull the fuse for the blower to take it off line. Good luck.

This was the first failure on my wife's x5: was the porcupine and was an easy fix. Search e53 FSR or FSU.
You can pull out the FSU it will stop drawing power. If it's the original style (thick cones) it's way past due for replacement. The new style uses thin cylinders Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Thanks guys will pulling the fuse cause me to not have any heat in the car?

People will do the fuse pull for a while (say a week or more) until the new part comes or they can get to their indy

Its the FSU(Final Stage Unit) had that happen on mine, You can unplug it when you park and you'll be fine. takes about 5-10 min to replace. Once I replaced it all was fine, no more dead battery.
