passanger seat heater not working

Hi

After a long time I've managed to sort most of fault out on my 3.0 d . I've got an issue with passenger heated seat not working. The 3 LEDs don't even lit up. I was under impression they should come on for a few secs if heater element is broke. This however, does nothing. Checked fuse 140 and 141 in boot and both are ok. Also fues 112 seems fine. There is apparently heat control module a186a. Not sure where is it located nor how to check it.

Any ideas please?

The obvious failure from your description is the switch.

Pull the switch and jumper across it's pins or measure the Ω across to verify the switch is working.

Find your car, find the schematic- click on a186a and it gives you a picture...

I would suggest the first place to start are the connectors under the seat. Make sure they are all connected tightly. Good luck.

Had a look over the weekend. The fuse F141 in boot is not present nor is the cable populated! Strange as drivers side (UK) works fine. Perhaps it was a retrofit? There is a module at the bottom of the seat with all cables in. I cannot be sure if it is A186a or non-heated version.

Can someone with heated seats check if F141 is populated please? It should be in the back of the vehicle.

Thanks

Charked the rear fuse panel, checked the manual, no numerical designation. Where is the fuse numerical index?

From the TIS website: all I did was input for an e70 X5 35d and typed A186a in the search box.

Thanks for that. I do have this. However puzzled by missing fuse F141 now. Hence asked if someone with heated seats can check if they have this fuse populated
