Engine bay part identification
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know what part(s) this is in the engine bay (not the rubber gasket but the parts under it that the rubber is attached to)? It seems to function to separate the engine compartment from the air filter section on the left and not sure what on the right and the windshield cowl. Mine broke off and while the rubber is holding the pieces together, sometimes it rattles. Thanks.

Are you referring to #10 & #14 (top diagram) in the part database found in the VEHICLE TRIM area engine compartment (diagram)?
Or do you mean #7 & #8 (bottom diagram) found in the HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONG area? BTW...the forum does better with pics that are around 800x600...the pics will fit within the frame of most phones/laptops/tablets that don't have a 36"-70" monitor screen. And, since you've been a member for a while now...creating a signature that included your model/model year/build date would help us help you better...especially if asked to look up specific info like parts etc. for you. I generically selected a 2008 e70 X5 3.0 just to pull up the diagrams. Double check using your VIN or correct model/model year/build date info in case there may be a slight change during production run from 2007-2013. :D |

Thank you to @Qsilver7 and @Mackskibum! The diagram didn't really show what I was looking at under the hood. The one from bmwfans.info actually looks closer than the one from realOEM. I suppose I need all three parts. Anyone replaced these before?
@Qsilver7, also appreciate the advice on the posting and signature. Sorry about that. |

Engine bay part identification
Long time member, but first post.
Saw this thread came across my TapaTalk feed. I thought to myself, that’s an interesting part to break. LOL, when opened my hood just now the centerpiece is completely gone and the two side pieces are held in place by the gasket. I guess I’ll be joining the replacement club. 2010 X5 35d |
