Dunno. I just mentioned it in regards to possibly doing the valley pan/transfer pipe. Thought there was more overlap in work involved

Unfortunately everything but that bottom hose will be here Friday. I think I'll wait to repair it until I get all the parts.

Did the repair earlier today, think it took about 45 min although I didn't do a full bleed.

Haven't looked at the tank too closely but from what I can tell the bottom o-ring was giving out so good thing I waited for the hose. First time working with those quick disconnect hoses which I guess are easier to work with but if they only last for 10 years and with the extra cost.... Makes me miss the ol hose clamp.

Got coolant everywhere so I'm sure I'll be smelling it for a while, but I'll be monitoring the level best I can to see if there's any loss. If it is the o-ring like I think I'll definitely be replacing all the hoses I can reach when I do the wp later on.

I once had VW try to tell me that was normal too. I then asked them if they would put a used car on their lot for sale knowing it used a qt ever 2500 miles and they said nope so I said OK then fix this one (it was under warranty). New long block 2.0 later it was not using any oil at all. :D I hated that 2.0 from the late 1990s, what a pile of crap.

Rinse your engine off with a garden hose, the smell will be gone pretty much right away.

I take on repairs, through the incompetence of others. Good for you for tackling a job.

I think this was a compliment, so thank you?

We took the E70 for a Costco run, couple miles, no noticeable leak afterwards. I gave it my blessing to return to DD duties for my wife.

Others = Being people that I pay to do the job, and they screw it up and leave me hanging.

So yes, a compliment to you, for taking on the a task.

Just to completely wrap this up, after 5 days of DD duty, checked the level and no loss. Calling it a successful fix :)
