it's been discussed several times. Have you don searching on this topic?

Miles? I've recently read that valve seals are a key offender of oil in the exhaust.

White smoke without coolant loss is normally turbo failure..
Did you get a chance to pop off the hose and wiggle the shaft of the lower turbo to check its play?
Unfortunately, on the upper turbo is harder to access the shaft.

Smoking white. Funny.

I didn't notice diesel. I'm following good learning new stuff I am curious about the turbo shaft

In a gas engine, white smoke is accompanied with a sweet smell.
Can't comment on the Diesel.

Found this somewhere online. Not sure if it applies

"White Smoke: White smoke coming from the exhaust usually points to one point of failure: the injectors. Usually, white smoke indicates that the diesel fuel is not burning correctly. Unburned diesel fuel will make its way through the exhaust completely unused. Be careful of white smoke as it will irritate your eyes and skin. If white smoke occurs during a startup in freezing temperatures, then goes away, it usually indicates frozen deposits of soot which expanded around the rings then burned away once the engine warmed up. The use of glow plugs during cold starts and/or the use of a flushing solvent to remove engine sludge is recommended."
