Upgraded from 07 3.0D to 08 M Sport
 

Hi Guys

Hoping to get some guidance from you on my new purchase

Recently bought a 2008 3.0D M Sport with only 105k mls on it, Delighted with it as always loved the look of them, alot firmer a ride with the 20's on it but damn those 315 rear tyres look epic!!

Some small little issues, The shop i got it from claimed the previous owner had 'disconnected' the panoramic sunroof, im assuming this is because it was faulty, what goes in these exactly? the motor? im handy with spanners and if it was a straight forward enough job i'd almost dive into it myself

secondly, the passenger door isnt locking or unlocking with the remote central locking nor the button inside the car, anything simple? i had the door card off my last one so i know thats a simple enough process but what is it i will need and i'll try source a used unit

Lastly, any upgrades/improvements you all reckon is a 'must do' to an M Sport? Ill try post a pic

When a salesmen tells you "the sunroof was disconnected" replace that with "the sunroof is shot and needs $2800 of work to fix"


Looks nice. Honestly I go years without using the sunroof....

Macker1 - nice purchase man!! I love the look of those as well... I've been after my wife to let me part with my E53 and pick up an E70 4.8is but so far I e gotten no love...

With regard to the door lock I'm guessing the a actuator has failed, pretty easy to test and fix - pull the door card and make sure you're getting power at the a actuator and if so, replace it.

Now... the sunroof... you really don't know what's up with that until you get power to it and actually test it - does it not tilt, not open, not close or is it dead all together - get it powered up and let us know what she does.

Hi Guys, just wanted to say thanks, got a 2nd hand door actuator and fitted it yesterday, worked a treat! done in about 20 mins!

I'd be interested in peoples opinions on upgrades, pick up my 09 M-Sport tomorrow.

Not much for 07 or 08 even Dinan doesn't have anything. Go with X5M :D
