Limp mode and overheating message
 

2013 X5 going into limp mode and says overheating. I turn off the ignition and then are able to continue. Not sure what the issue is but appears electrical and not mechanical (engine bay is cool and no aux fan kicking in). Vehicle has 87,000 miles.

I would bet that your electric water pump has gone belly-up. They go as soon as 60k miles.

That’s what they are saying. I am in the middle of a road trip so I can’t do myself..bye bye $1250.🤮

Eh, as I recall 1400 is the going rate. Not too bad. You can badly fry the engine when the pump stops- you wont feel the radiator get hot, but the engine itself cooks
