Air Suspension Issues Left Side?

Ok, I’ve been reading forums, troubleshooting the issue, but am still having the issue. Have owned many BMW, and picked up a used 07 X5 a few months ago. When I first drove it I got the ride height error messsge. Visually noticing that the left side was lower than the right, I assumed it was the air bag. Code for the EHC was “control time lifting rear left”. I bought a new set of airbags, and started on the Left side. Once the wheel was removed I noticed a repair job on the ride height sensor wires, and that the wire was broken. I fixed the wire properly, and when I put the car back on the ground the pump kicked on, and I realized I never heard it running until now. Cleared the codes, and drove ok for a couple days, then the error came back same as before. I replaced the bags, drove it for a day, and error code came back. Still only the left side, even if I activate the system in diagnostics to fill the rear left it doesn’t fill to the height of the right side.

Could it be possible the pump can’t compress the air enough to fill it? I hate to throw more parts at it if someone’s been here before.... Any ideas?

Is there a calibration procedure that should be run after replacing bags? I ask because I have not done this particular repair yet but I've definitely read of using INPA or the like to finagle with the ride height calibration.

There is a ride height adjustment that can be done in BMW ISTA. My rear is sitting at 705mm left and 732mm right. Looking at the back of the car it’s obviously tilting heavily on the drivers side. I tried to run the ride height adjustment and it reads back that it is in spec and no adjustment is needed. Maybe my EHC control unit has gone bad?

There are things other than the airbag that can leak. Tubes...the valve block.

Usually it IS the bag, but not always.

If you search, here and Bimmerfest, you will see the occasional deep dive past the airbags.

I don't have that suspension, so never had to dig in...

I don’t think it’s a leak because the car never sags more than its current state. If there was a leak I would assume it would be on the bump stops after a few days of sitting. I’ve left the truck in the driveway for a week, and it stays the same, left side lower.
