AR913 Rims
2 Attachment(s)
Looking to replace the scrapped up factory 19's on the truck but unwilling to spend an arm, so what do you guys think of these rims? Black or Silver?
I think they look ok for the SUV. Initially, I wanted the Ar924's but too low on the load rating. |
Fellow Coloradan, dark colored wheels are the new trend now and looks good in almost any body color. Any other choices though as far as style?

. $200 a rim...less than the tire.
I simply cannot believe the quality is all the same. |

They aren't that great. But with enough sidewall (factory should be enough) I don't think there would be a problem unless tracking the vehicle. Color is subjective, but I highly prefer the gunmetal/machined ones. Black wheels look like dirty wheels to me on any car, from $3000 cars to $3,000,000 cars. Just an opinion though. Get what you like obviously. |
I'll chime in on this one. To me it depends on the color of the car. Indeed the trend is to go gunmetal or black now a days on everything, however in my opinion they always look dirty and you can make out the design. Silver pops way more when its clean. i have a Vermilion Red 2011 and if i do upgrade from the stock 19s, i will do silver 20s or machined silver. +1 for silver/hyper silver.

Black rims do look dirty on certain cars but the x5 to me looks big and bad so a little dirty on the shoes just fits imo. However, I would never put on black rims on my e31.

To me, dark rims can look great on certain cars painted white, but not much else. That kind contrast works for me, especially if the calipers are painted.
Otherwise, I would agree with the "dark rims look dirty and don't show well" sentiment. Dark exterior pain with dark rims look the worst to me, like the person has a habit of sneaking around at night, headlights off, avoiding attention... |
