Replacing the differential pressure sensor
 

Hello, I have a 2013 35D, and I have the code 4D03, pressure sensor reads accurately but differential (DPF) sensor reads negative values and i believe is throwing the code. I want to remove it and inspect/replace the sensor and the vacuum lines. Does anyone here have advice on how to access it? Remove the wheel liner on passenger side? or remove the entire sensor mount? There seems to be little information on this.

DPF for a modern diesel means diesel particulate filter.

If you are going to replace the vacuum lines, you'll probably find it easier to do that with the vacuum distribution block removed. It's not a fun area to work on either way. I was literally laying on top of the engine at least once.

There is at least one guide on a 335d (same engine) that I read up on that helped me.

You mean not vacuum lines but the lines that feed the pre and post dpf pressure to that sensor...

I replaced the differential pressure sensor a few weeks ago and it takes a bit of gymnastics and essential is good set of torx sockets but it is not very hard even leaving the distribution block on the engine.

Awesome! Thanks to everybody. I never thought of removing the engine bay cowling. That looks Like the trick. I will order new vacuume hose and the sensor and replace the vac lines and the sensor next week. I will report if it clears up my error and any lessons learned.

I finally got around to replacing the differential exhaust pressure sensor and that did indeed clear my 4D03 code. For the next person changing theirs, I was able to do it with removing the engine cover/airbox. I left the Vacuum distribution block in place. Removing the distro block and replacing all the vac lines might have been the smart thing to do. lol
