Left turn thud

On my 2013 once in a while, I'll hear, what I can only describe as a thud or clunk. Very rarely occurs and I can feel it in the seat of my pants so I'm thinking something on the rear suspension or ??? Checked everything first time I heard/felt it and all suspension parts (front and rear) seemed in perfect condition. 74k miles overall and no other issues.

Any ideas or suggestions?

any particular maneuvers that trigger it? Bumps, speed, uneven roads, driveway transition, etc, etc?

Sadly no, just a left turn and not all left turns either. Normally from a stop and a typical left turn from one street to another. Perfectly flat and uneventful.

Pad shifting/clunking/caliper issue? When was the last time you went through the brakes?

Just tossing out wags.... Sry.

Not a problem. Haven't gone through the brakes myself since we just bought it at the end of September, but I have records that they were gone through in August at the $tealer. But you may be right and worth a go through myself.

If you think of anything else let me know. But it'll be after this series of rain storms comes through by next weekend.

Thanks

Yup. I'm 120 miles east of you. We need the water....

Well I figured it out and you won't believe the cause.

X5 has factory hidden tow hitch and the removable pieces are in the storage bin under the back floor in cardboard boxes. Turns out the way part of it was stored in a position it would thump during certain speed by tipping and hitting the side wall. I would feel it due to it's size/weight hitting said wall. LOL

Glad it wasn't anything overall. LOL

Lucky!@!
I was going to throw out something I had experienced, which was a clunk when doing similar 90-deg turns. This was shortly after I picked up the car.
Turns out the dealer I bought it from had done the CCP service, and had to remove the engine to do so, which meant they disconnected the front axles... Upon re-install they had over-torqued one axle nut (driver side) and it was stripped. Fixed w/ no charge of course.
