Water Temp Permanent Display
Hey all. I think I remember awhile ago that you can get the water temp to display permanently. Was I wrong? And if not, what is the procedure to do it? Thanks in advance.

I think you're wrong. You can get into the diagnostic menu (secret menu) to see coolant temperature. That's the only display I'm aware of.

Are you some kind of water (temp) maniac?

Are there any E70s that have a temperature meter instead of the stupid consumption meter?
I was just thinking the E39 M5 has an oil temperature meter where other E39s have a consumption meter. With a cluster swap and some coding, a non-M5 can have a temperature meter, too. I wonder if something similar can be done with the E70. There would have to be a temperature sensor to use and the code/wiring would have to exist. I also ponder installing a trio of aftermarket meters at some point. In the meantime, I use a ScanGaugeII plugged into the OBD-II port. |

I am playing with a hybrid E60/E70 gauge cluster that will have oil temp and/or the moving tach line for the e70. I just haven't had time to finish the project given that I had to replace my engine and have only been back up and running for about a week and a half. -Rich |
Get an obd device and torque app on an Android phone. That is how I monitor mine

Only issue is that the annoyingly sensitive e70 power monitoring will complain about the obd adapter standby load. I'm looking to rewire mine to get 12v from a switched source
