Is there a cover to to this section???

Iv been having a water intrusion problem for 3 months now. I took apart the front passenger side section apart and under the cabin filter i found these wires. I can see water dripping down onto them and the harness and im guessing thats what throwing all the lights check engine, trans etc... only when its raining, as soon as it dries all codes go away within a few drive cycles. Is there a oem cover for this section i dont think they would leave these out in th open like that. see video and pic below. Tnx

Should be a drain under that section to let the water out.....

there is but all those wires are getting soaked and something is setting off all my dash lights everytime it rains even if its a small amount of rain. i know its in the front i tested with a hose eveytime the water goes on the windshield this happens.

I had same issues u need to buy all the trims ontop of the air filter etc windshield cowl trims and replace them so water won't get in .

These trims all are made of some sort of Fiberglass and they break easily a lot of what Chinese sellers have plastic ones which I purchased message me if u need links

I guess I just assumed that ALL the stock covers, cowlings, drains, bits and bobs are in place and not broken....

(That area is designed to get wet- in general everything under the hood is... so if just a little water causes you issues I wonder if something else is going on with a open module, damaged seal, etc...)

IF we are talking about the three piece shroud (plus foam rubber strip on top) that guides all the water from the windshield base away from the testy bits:
The original parts were prone to cracking from heat cycles. BMW revised the fiber content in these parts a couple years ago, they are supposed to last longer now.
Ppl complain about them being pricey, I didn't think they were too bad (using CCA discount), as they are kind of important. I got new ones last summer and installed all. Very pleased.
