Thanks qsilver, that's a lot of great and informative info. Any suggestions on which software I can try and use to connect into the modules and run the checks - on the diy level?

Hi Guys,
I have a similar situation. My remotes are working almost to perfection if I am within 3-4ft from the car. There are certain situation when buttons are working also at a grater distance 10-15ft but only very rarely. The batteries on both remotes i replaced several times with several different brands but no change. To also mention the car is equipped with CA and that as well don't work well. Sometimes with the key in my jacket i can't lock or unlock doors or i get the missing key alert on CIC if engine is running. Lately I need to keep the key in my hand when i press start. I saw the pictures posted earlier but i did not quite understood what is the primary and what is the backup antenna. I know CA works on different antennas of remote buttons lock/unlock and i know there is one behind rear bumper as well one in the cargo (left side spare wheel) but i wonder if anyone knows exactly how many and where are located so i can replace one by one to see if there is improvement. Respectfully, Alin |
Do a google search for E70 Comfort Access PDF
oh, here, Ill do it https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...au2zmAN-KcWZji There are other similar docs that should orient you to where the modules and antennae are located. And of course newtis.info if you have a subscription, and INPA/ISTA as well |

I had nearly identical symptoms when my fobs both had bad solder joints. I reflowed the joints and both came back to life for a long time. I lost one key on a road trip (that still stings years later, and the other stopped working again but I can't risk reflow with only one working key so until I get a replacement I'm stuck with key only entry. |
