INPA, need a couplde of Daten files, help!

I am trying to get INPA, EDIABAS, et al working on a win10 laptop. I have it going on a desktop (winXP) but, since I am on the eastern edge of the Atlantic rather than the western one, I don't have access to the desktop just now. I have been at this for a couple of weeks now and by now I know far too much about installing BMW software :-( (Best one yet is the version on "Bimmergeeks"...)

For those of you who have a pre-facelift 35d (or any other 35d engine in an Exx chassis) and a working set of daten files, could you check if you have files that begin with DDE73...... The two I am fairly certain I need are DDE73KWP.ipo and DDE73.ini but there maybe others I am unaware of for the DDE 7.3 engine management. (Best place to start a search might be EC-APPS or Ediabas folder.)

If you have them, please send me a PM so I can supply an email address? Thanks!!

Inpa is kind of a hassle with 35d dde 73. Use ista D instead. I don't remember but it had to be dde6 something to get inpa to work and still things weren't accessible.

https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%...B5EF816337D794 datens here I found from another thread. I see an 08dde731.ipo etc but not sure nor do I want to mess with INPA, it was in german anyways and ISTA-D works well.

Hi RobN,

I'm still working on downloading ISTA (my connection here is bit slow and Friday night we suffered a 20 hour outtage). I have ISTA up and running on my desktop in the US and I have used it but found it slower and less user friendly than INPA. Part of the reason is that I can read German pretty well... :-) I shall have a rummage in the Daten you link connects to. Thanks

Finally got my INPA, EDIABAS, NCS, etc., to work properly. Basically the std E70.ENG is missing some lines to make INPA look for the correct Daten files which start with DDE73kwp.xxx. I used the E70.ENG file from my desktop set-up. The DDE73kwp.xxx are in the SP-Daten-files on the NZ site.

After that I installed one version of ISTA-+ but it made everything else unstable and did not ID the car, so back to the drawing board on that.

Now that I can see the fault codes for the engine with INPA, I confirm that my glow plug module is unresponsive as the guys who cleaned my DPF said.... I looked up a U-tube video and realized that a) it will be a major-league greasy operation to get in there and replace it, and b) I should probably replace the glow plugs while in there and remove the swirl-flaps....

I think I will order everything and then get to it late-September as I first have some travel to complete.

If you're keeping dpf, keep the swirl flaps. A few have noticed more regens with it deleted because the flaps reduce particulates.

Yesterday I had a look with new flashlight that reaches into the space under the manifold. The glow plug module can probably be removed as per the YouTube video posted on another thread. I just need to get a few tools that would enable reaching in there. That puts the swirl flap question off for a bit.

First try would probably be to see if the electrical connection is fouled. It revived a few times on a cold start up so there is some hope. Unfortunately reaching in there is an ugly business that should be only undertaken with a good supply of paper towels....

I am dealing with the same thing for my 2013 35d.... what do you mean by NZ site?

TriX5 12-19-2019 07:24 PM

It is site that contains files for pc based diagnosis. See bimmerfest site.

I couldn't find a reference to NZ on Bimmerfest. Can you provide a link?
