Fixing or Replacing Steering Wheel Trim
I'm looking at used E70's. Found one nearby that checks most of my boxes, but it has this rash around the buttons on the steering wheel that would drive me crazy. Can these pieces be replaced fairly easily (without have to replace the entire steering wheel)?

Has anyone tried anything like these aftermarket pieces? Saw one in plastic 'chrome' and this one in faux carbon fiber. For the price, might be worth a shot:

Well they arrived and I put them on yesterday! Man for such a small change they look great on the wheel!!! They now match my mirrors.

Surprised noone mentioned- If you want a glossy black finish, you can actually lightly sand off the peeling coating and polish the black underneath. Pics of new ones installed? My wheel is perfect right now, but if it ever starts peeling I think I'd polish the stuff there.

I like the CF look a lot. I can't seem to get the picture loaded here. I will keep trying. |
