That is not an issue these days with Google Maps, etc.

What's the issue is, can Google map voice be streamed via Bluetooth to car audio? In the 4.8 he wants, No. In the 35i, yes.

A newer car is always a better user experience than a much older one.

Also remember the power/torque of the 35i TT Vs 4.8i NA translate to near identical performance figures. 0-60 of 6.5 Vs 6.2 sec I believe and near identical top speed, but again, not that this matters as your wife and kids are most probably not gonna be racing on the highway ,[emoji38]

I've put 40K on my 2011 E70 and the only repair has been a cracked coolant expansion tank - $350. Great reliable car. I've replaced the water pump and have random limp mode on my 2012 E70. Repaired the transfer case but that was my fault, smoked the rear tires in 15K while the fronts were relatively new, should have rotated much sooner. My wife drives the 2011 like an old lady, I drive the 2012 like a cheap whore. I guess that explains the difference!

Hi all -

Like the title says, I am considering upgrading my fiance to an X5 and have a few I am looking at. We both love the looks, and I want to get her something that is AWD and safer than her current car (and that I can enjoy driving from time to time)

I am currently looking at an 2008 with the 4.8i (96k odo) and a 2012 x35i (90k odo). Both appear to have more or less the same features, but I am just curious if there is a consensus on the V8 vs TT straight-6 in terms of reliability, maintenance, power/fun factor etc. I have done some research and know that the V8 can be a time bomb - but I don't know if those issues are just with the 4.4, the 4.8 or both.

Any input/threads you can point me towards would be appreciated!

Hey there! How much are they asking for the “08 X5? If you are looking for othe options, let me know, I might consider selling mine. Car is in Chicago. It’s a 2007 X5 4.8i xdrive, w/ 110K. I’ve been taking care of it really well. Let me know if you’re interested. Has a lot of great options: space gray on black leather sports seats, quad exhaust meisterschaft muffler (really nice sound), premium audio, running boards, visors, tint, and 3rd row. Replaced alternator, water pump, thermostat, coolant flushed, new battery (Mercedes?), transmission fluid changed, it has lci tail lights, headlights. Tires are 19” Bridgestone RFTs all around.
I’ll consider selling only if the price is right. Either way, you’re gonna love the V8! Mine gets 21 MPG on hwy, around 12 in city.

The third row in the e70 is one of the most absurd pieces of equipment bmw has ever made.

It is severely squeezed and deficient of leg and foot room that only 6 year olds and below can somehow get in there, but it is set so low that those six year olds while there cannot see outside nor in front of them. It's utterly useless.
