What year is your X5? Another option is to do a delete on the emissions equipment.

Didn't realize an 'emissions delete' also deletes the glowplugs....:stickpoke

OP- there are plenty of ways to not spend 1500 on glowplugs. (An Indy messing up a complext diesel emissions repair is not the same as a GP swap...)But if you want to feel miserable; angry; or play the victim, have at it!

What are you talking about dude? Sounds like you're the one with the anger issues. Also sounds like it's a good idea to do the work. Thanks and no thanks!

What a toxic forum.

Some people are just pissed at the dealer bull crap through the years.
I'm still hesitant to do the passenger airbag recall because it's common that they mess up the wiring behind the dash. Dealers being run privately under the bmw name means skipped steps a lot of times in order to increase profit margins.

Truth. I've had a rattle from hell behind the cluster since having the airbag recall done.

@Ard, the delete does not, you are correct. I am making a huge assumption that the majority of OPs repairs have been emission related. $15k is quite a bit.

Yeah, I knew that. Hence the :stickpoke
