My car is e70 x5 3.0si n52 engin.

My car has a problem with oxygen sensors.

Bank 1,bank 2.

I want to replace myself.

HOWEVER, it is super rare for two sensors to fail at the same time. More likely you have an air-fuel issue, causing issues w the sensor readings. The DME reads this as "o2 sensor issue"

Do you have any codes??

Or did you take it to some shop, they said bad sensors and you want to do it yourself.

If the car has over 60k, prolly should replace them as they are maintenance items, but may not fix the issue.

OK, pre-cat sensors, that rules out a catalyst problem. It's odd that both fail at same time as ard pointed out. It's possible one has failed and mechanic is suggesting changing both. How many miles? Is your check engine light on? Without knowing the actual code it's impossible to say whether it's a sensor, wiring or vacuum leak problem.

If you do this, you will get better advice. For examnple, your first post was "two bad O2 sensors"...THIS is a very specific fact pattern and send us in one direction.


However, "I have one bad sensor but figure I will replace both" is an entirely different.


I recognize your location is Korea, and language may be a challenge- but again, the more info you can provide- complete, responsive and precise- the better the advice.


There are 2 or 3 **different** O2 sensor codes. Until you tell us which, we cannot help.
