'Typical' Glow plug operation?

So I'm on my second winter with the 35d. This winter is milder than last (so far), but I never encountered the Glow Plug preheat last year.

This year I have started in temps as low as 15 degrees, with no preheat showing, no delay in starting..

Went to start the car yesterday morning, and it was 46 degrees, the previous night got down to 36-37 degrees.

And the car doesn't start immediately after I press the button, I see the glow plug preheat indicator in the instrument cluster for approximately 2 seconds, then the engine starts..

This happened once before a few weeks ago as well, temps well above freezing, and the preheat cycle comes on..

Should I be concerned that there is an issue?

nothing to worry about as long as you don't have any codes

Still waiting for my Foxwell to arrive, there has been a persistent code for EGR stuck closed that I've yet to address, so hard to say till I can plug a scanner, but seemed like odd times for them to operate..
