Headlights were in sad shape. Decided to try out the 3M headlight restoration kit. Results were pretty good!

Before pics....forgot to take pics of the passenger side before I started, but it was equally as bad.

After using the 3M headlight restoration kit. Pretty happy with the results. I actually ended up using two kits as I've never done this before and I used the 500grit.....ALOT. I think you are supposed to use 3 out of 6 per headlight and I ended up using all 6 for each headlight.

Looks good! Is there a coating that you apply after the sanding?

RoundelNut 10-05-2020 08:10 AM

I’m going to put some ceramic coat on it and maybe get some protective film also

Make sure you get UV protectant coating. Otherwise, you'll not get even 6 months out of it.

Already put ceramic coating on it, may also get a film put on it.

I recommend a film. Without it they will decline much more rapidly than when new

Pay body shop to clear coat them.

The difference of the before and after is stunning! I have one headlight that is also fogged out, I will definitely try this out.
