Replaced my battery - two questions
Just replaced the battery in my 2013. Wasn't able to find an exact match for the stock 105aH AGM, so i bought a 100aH AGM. I used Bimmercode/Bimmerlink + a Veepeak Bluetooth LE OBD2 adapter to register/code it.
Two questions: (1) When coding the battery, there was no option for 100aH - only 90 and 105. I coded it as 90aH, figuring it's better that the car thinks it has less capacity than it really has. Was that the right thing to do? (2) The stock battery had the hose connected on the (+) side of the battery (drivers' side of the car). The new battery had holes on both sides of the battery, but the (+) side was plugged with a little plastic blank. The car's hose isn't long enough to reach the new battery's (-) side, so I popped the little blank out, transferred it to the new battery's (-) side and plugged the hose into the new battery's (+) side. Does this sound ok? |
I would have used the 5% off vs 10% off setting but I think you figured out the correct way to vent it.

Check your dealer part pricing. My dealer sells 105ah batteries for $200 which is less than the auto parts store.

I paid $140 for the bigger H8 bat liquid filled for wife and $170 for my H7 agm at Sam's club. Both Duracell brand I think were both Europe made not far east
