DISA valve

Large DISA valve on my 09 X5 N52 started to rattle, I was able to confirm by unplugging it. I am about to order a new one and was wondering if there will be enough room for me to take it out without taking throttle body out? Otherwise, I should probably order a new throttle body seal and have it cleaned while I am it.

DISA valve

Look for a YouTube video. On m54 it's about the easiest thing to repair. I had to change a starter on N52 and I had to remove pretty much the entire top of the engine I don't remember the disA but I do remember I forgot to plug the throttle body back in. FYI: does not run very well in that state.

Also: you can most likely repair for pennies look for my awr-fix (search subjects only) on disa, if it's just worn you can copy how I fixed my wife's disa with a 6-32 machine screw a couple nuts and some heat shrink tubing. Good as new been working for over a year

I went ahead and installed brand new DISA valve. It would have been less expensive to repair an existing one, but I didn't want to take chances. I heard horror stories about DISA valve falling apart and ending up in the engine.

Either way, what a difference new DISA valve made! I think I have been driving with a broken DISA valve for several years and the car is much more torquer now in low to mid RPMs.

I would take the old and refurbish for somebody else. Yes if you drop that little piece that pivots into the intake it's very scary

Isarkisov, did you replace both DISAs, or just the top one? Did you have to pull the intake manifold to do the lower one, if you did it? What about the throttle body, as you mentioned? Thanks
