Nothing is ever cut and dried legal wise. They can spend 420K of your money arguing over the definition of "Is" remember.
Would that I able to do all my repairs as I once did. Those days are passed and we must make the best of those that remain.

Thats why I do all of my own work. Im paranoid and dont trust anyone with my vehicles. Even if its a job that requires a lift which I dont have I stand there the entire time :)


Killing a motor for a valve cover replacement job is pretty cut and dry I would think legal wise. But you never know.

You’re right, a mechanic is under pressure to just get it done, no matter the damage he might do;
I’m limited in my capabilities, but I just take my time, even though it probably takes me ten times longer than a professional.
