Would anyone know what the box and wires behind left and right wheel in the attachment are?

Looks like the connector box for the ABS sensor and brake pad wear sensor.

The wires coming In should be wrapped but the box is out in the open for easy access for repair. I would wrap the individual wires let’s a stone fly off the tire and cut one of the wires leading to mystery brake pad failure light or loss of DSC.

But....


Based on the utter paucity of reported issues with damage to this connection/connector, it seems that BMW engineers have it precisely right.

Thanks guys, good suggestion as other side has a bit more tape...

You can use split loom tubing or loom wrap.
