misfire

Hi Everyone,

2007 e70 4.8 - n62T 83,500 miles

Im hooping for some insight. Im getting the following codes:

29CC - Misfire several cylinders
29D4 Cyl 8 misfire
2DEB Power management electrical system
2E2B Coil Cylinder 8
2E8C Intelligent Battery sensor function
2EBD dme: no psd message from alternator

I bought it used and have idea if the did the coils, plugs. Does the error messages mean I have to do? or is it something else I should look into?

Thanks

I think the key is the no message from alternator.

Every error could be from voltage problem. Start with realtime voltage.

I checked and it’s 13.9 battery voltage. When I start the ignition, voltage fluctuates from 13.9 - 14.1

Thats at idle? You have to drive and test under load

I just took it for a drive and on my foxwell obd it shows 13.85 - 14.13 v on city driving. FYI I have a new battery and registered it, maybe 300 miles ago

Shows an actual error on coil 8. I would replace clear codes see what returns

I would swap coil and plug on cylinder 8 with another cylinder, see if the misfire moves to the new cylinder.

That's the normal practice when you have a single cyl misfire but there is a code for coil. Usually when there is a code for the actual device it's shot eg cam sensor

Did you ever find what the problem was?
