E70 Rear Subframe Bushings

Hello;

I need new rear subframe bushings on my 2008 E70 X5 4.8i.

Anyone personally done rear subframe bushings on an E70? What tool set did you use, and how did you like it? I see several bushing puller kits on the market that claim to work on this car, and want to get the best one.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Struggled with this in my E39, (subframe and diff)

Will be interested in what you uncover....

It's not likely to require the same tools. While a similar set up, it's possible the dimension of the bushings are different. If you look at Baum tools, they sell quite a few subframe bushing tool kits that look similar but are different.

Oh, yeah- ddint think so. Just commenting. The rubber 'lips' and shape make it a challenge to use general presses, whch tripped me up on the E39 m5. (I dropped the whole thing out of the car and rebuilt it.) I took a quick look at the E70 and looked like it had some of the same features.

Funny...the E53 crowd is all over this. Not so much the E70 folks. Just a matter of time.

Well, the E53s tend towards really bad camber problems when the rear subframe bushings go bad. My E70 has ~160k miles, and alignment is still fine; it's just that the rear of the car is moving around more than it should.
