Rear shock replacement with 3rd row
 

I can't seem to reach a screw for the shock mount due to a plastic piece being in the way. Does anyone know how to remove the cargo holder rail in the trunk as the plastic piece seems to be connected to that.

I tried following the instructions below, but it seems the poster of the DIY does not have the cargo rails in the trunk, but just the tie down points.

My recollection is sketchy and I don't the E70 anymore but I did the AD replacement and getting the rails out was not difficult. Just pull out the cargo covers in the trunk and start from there.

If I remember correctly, when I had my 2008 with the adjustable cargo points and 3rd row seats. The cargo adjustments slid up and down the rails and in three points there were bolt heads within the rails to be able to remove them. I cannot remember if they were hex or torx head.

I can check tomorrow but without 3rd row seats, there's just a convenient storage space underneath. I have storage rails and tie down points but I don't really see how the rails would affect shock mounts.

IIRC the side trim panels need to be removed to get at the top of the shocks. To get the trim panel out the rails need to be removed but like stated above just a few bolts in the rails.
