Ok, short of the long...
Have changed valve cover gasket. Went to start, runs like crap, engine malfunction error along with "- 2BEE: high pressure, fuel, plausibility, cold start. Pressure to low."

Have changed the HP fuel sensor, changed out the HPFP (its the little cam roller type), changed the fuel tank pump, still same issues.

I bought a NT510 and took live FP readings:
- Rail Pressure - 179 psi /
- Rail pressure, nominal value - 1087 psi (fluctuates).
(not sure what the difference between the two are.)
There is a choice in the NT510 to see LPFP; it stays at 96psi. Don't believe there is a LPF sensor, but its showing up.

This veh does not have the FP reg.
I checked fuses 105 and 122, both good.

I put a light probe on the tank fuel fuel pump connector and noticed its not priming. It only gets power when cranking and running. I thought it was supposed to prime when opening the door.

Is there a way to test the HPF sensor with an ohm meter? That was the first issue, I broke it putting the valve cover on, its been doing this since.

Any ideas?

The push button start cars don't prime before crank it's stupid in my opinion.

Might prime if you key on engine off; post start without foot on brake.

The low pressure side should be crazy stable mine stays at 101.5 no matter what is happening. Any fluctuating means the low pressure fuel pump or its controller is faulty.

I get much higher fuel pressure when revving.

Looks like closer to 2000psi.

You should see similar. I think even if the sensor was reading wrong it would run a little better than terrible.

I'll see if I can find an expected voltage range.

I think at idle im about 1100 psi so if yours also is it suggests the sensor is ok and hpfp is not doing it's job.

Thanks for that. It makes me think its not the HPFP as it is running the same before and after replacing it and I'm getting the same error codes.
To that matter... it has been running the same since I put it back together and even after each part replacement. Again, first the sensor, same. Then the HPFP, same. Today, LPFP, same.

I HATE replacing parts with out being able to test. I did test the original LPFP and it pumped out fuel when directly to 12 volts, but one of the slider legs popped out, thats why I replaced it.
Oh, and I did verify after replacing the LPFP with a hose at the inlet of the HPFP into a bottle. Got fuel. Also metered it and am getting 12 volts.

On the sensor... Just asking because I had a hard time finding the right one and wondering if I got the wrong one. Presuming it fit and have the right connector but not the right internals for measuring. Thats my kind of luck! lol.

One thought.... is there anything on the VC (or attached to, in the way of) that you might have screwed up? Sometimes the code ISNT 'the part thats bad'.

Some models there was a valvetronic motor that could be easily damaged- after a gasket job all sort siht hit the fan...

Thats always a possibility, i guess. But to me, if i screwed up an injector, i'd should be getting that code. If I didn't tighten a fuel line tight enough, it'd be leaking. I did cracked that little egr/oil separator thingy and did get a code on it; replaced it and code went away. :dunno:

Well... Perform test as stated. Even heard the car go to a smooth idle. Now... it won't start! lol. Just my luck.

Going to HD to get stuff to make a smoke tester. I think I may have an issue with the gasket. I can see mostly all the way around and rechecked and can't see where the gasket is out or where it looks pinched, like it rolled inward. I had siliconed it all the way around do to it kept coming off on the back side.

While idling I unscrewed the oil filler cap and no change in idle. Thats not a good sign.
We'll see what happens after the smoke test.

Yeah should hear air release as well when you pull cap.

Car cranks no start or no crank either?

Edit:
Apparently theres supposed to be a gasket there. I guess I missed that when replacing it. If thats my issue!!!! Im going to utterly pissed and happy at the same time!!!
