2012 E70 35d fuel delivery/pump troubleshooting
 

Got a diesel x5 with the m57 diesel engine.
Run/stall quickly.

On ista, i am showing about 100 bar low on actual rail pressure vs specified.

Likewise, when running the low pressure fuel pump, the desired RPS is 4000 something and I only show around 2700.

Wondering if the fuel pump speed specified is real or not. I don't have a 3 phase pump. just pulse width modulated control.

Can anyone test this on a running 35d? I am trying to determine if I need a low pressure pump or a High pressure fuel pump.

original issue was stall at high speed. eventually got it running, but can't get any extended run time anymore.

It varies the speed of the pump in order to maintain 4000 mbar (around 60 psi) feed pressure.
The pressure and temperature sensor is near the injection pump high pressure, behind the cp3, under the intake manifold.
If you're getting stalling and low pressure pump only doing 2700, the fuel filter could be clogged, because the ECU measures the pressure past the filter.
