TPM malfunction with wheels from another E70
07 X5 e70
I bought a set of OEM wheels and tires from 09 E70. The guy said it did not set a TPMS light, so i am assuming the sensors are installed and good. Wheels have metal valve stems which I am also thinking suggests the presence of the sensors in the wheels. My original wheels did not set a tpm light so I am assuming all the receivers and modules are working correctly. I put the new used wheels on my 07 E70 and get a TPM malfunction on the idrive. I have reset the tpm using the idrive many times with no success. I finally got my INPA working again and it does not detect the sensors at all (no voltage, temp, pressure, serial number...). I have not tried any of the functions in INPA yet like activate, nor have I made it to a tire shop yet to verify the sensors are broadcasting. I am thinking I could put one of my original wheels back on and see what INPA says. Anybody go through this before? Do I need a tire shop to clone my old TPMS ID's to the new wheels or can INPA help? |
BMW sells cars with different TPM versions. Although I think 2010 or 2011 is when they made a version change in the E70
Sellers lie His car may not have actually HAD a working TPM system Mine lasted 12 years. Changed them with the last tire change. I supplied the sensors (OEM) ...shop didnt charge me |
