Another life was saved by our E70...
Our beloved E70 gave its life to save our daughter's. A driver ran the stop sign and my daughter T-boned her (corrected) last night on her way home on an otherwise empty road :banghead:.
Other driver and passenger were both hospitalized and cited for failure to yield. All the airbags deployed, our daughter was not injured physically but she'll probably be scared to drive for a while. RIP... https://youtu.be/8QK0A40wMMM |
Glad to read that she was ok! Our daughter drives an E53 just for this reason alone. There are some pretty crazy drivers out there these days!

I'd say she 't-boned' him (though clearly his fault). Appears the front of the truck took the most damage. Most importantly, Glad to hear she was okay, the X5 (obviously) is replaceable, our kids most definitely are not..

Yeah, I got it wrong in my initial post, sorry. Trying to find a good used F15 in the area. Don't want to go too crazy with young drivers behind the wheel but something similar to the E70 and safe in case another 70+ elderly decides that traffic signs are mere suggestions.

I would also like to note that the dashcam saved us from a potentially long argument with the insurance providers as the police made absolutely no determination on the scene about what happened or who was at fault. Once I grabbed the dashcam from the about to be towed X5, retrieved the footage in my own vehicle, showed them what happened, they verbally stated that they would issue a citation to the other driver in the hospital.
No argument with the insurance either, USAA accepted responsibility without any issues. |
