Could this be interior of new X5?

Saw this pic on SiemensVDO website. Does not look like the interior of E60 or E90 and the car appears higher. SiemensVDO has changed /disguised a bit but the dash shape loooks new.

hmm i dont think so but it def. looks like a bmw interior....

Juanted 04-08-2006 11:15 PM

hmmm... interesting. It does look like the iDrive and the "double hump" interior...

Didn't some earlier spyshots show the Nav screen integrated into the dash? it's clean looking, though.

igord 04-09-2006 01:35 AM

they key, and the lights above the mirror look like bmw as well

although a/c control looks very volvo-like

:iagree: That's a BMW key in the ignition.

Kewl X5 04-09-2006 02:38 AM

Steering wheel is BMW sports package steering wheel from the 5/6-series. The speedo cluster is based on the current 5/6-series style....Interesting graphic changes in the iDrive menu, but it is the iDrive menu. The center climate control button look different from other BMWs. This could be the X5 interior....hmmmm. It does look similar to the E70 X5 spyshots of the interior.

LVR 04-09-2006 04:57 AM

The rain sensor above the mirror, the wiper lever, the dash vent and steering wheel all point to it being BMW (imho X5), in addition to the key etc, but the internal spy shots show a different dash line of the display cowls and a vent outlet where the airflow buttons are....

but maybe we're getting mirror navigation......

Yup... I remember seeing that when we test-drove the XC90 three years ago. I went to the Volvo web site, and apparently, they've changed the interior of the XC90.

asawadude 04-09-2006 08:41 AM

I agree with everyone else - the interior is that of a BMW.

ifly 04-09-2006 08:45 AM

BMW, do agree with Kaefer though AC controls are Volvo type legends on them.

LeMansX5 04-09-2006 11:03 AM

The part below nav screen is most probably photochopped to make it look different.

jwalsh22 04-09-2006 11:09 AM

hmm... something doesn't look right unless they've decided to completely change everything about the bmw interior. The a/c controls look funny, the speedo cluster doesn't look anything like a bimmer, more like, make that exactly like, a VW/Audi. The steering wheel and rearview mirror also point to bmw. Possible it's the new Q7? They've got an iDrive-like mechanism don't they?

LeMansX5 04-09-2006 11:25 AM

New shots folks! more similiarity to SiemensVDO pic.

Red line at 5,000 rpm - Diesel?? 3.5 twin turbo???? ;)

Juanted 04-09-2006 12:03 PM

ooohhh... I like those! And that is undoubtedly a BMW interior.

hmmm.... max speed of 210 KPH? Is that what that says? that's what... 130 MPH? Must be in the engine break-in period, huh?

Thanks for sharing, Sunil!

I've been arguing about this over at carspyshots for the past 2 days now.

I do believe it is the new E70 dash, however Siemens has switched out some parts (from the center console for example) to hide its true identity.\

Steering wheel is pretty much proof, as well as the cutout for on the mule for the cupholder.

Someone brought up on carspyshots.net that Siemens often pulls dashboards from BMW to do design studies and uses bits and pieces here and there... I can't imagine this being any different..

DINANM3 04-09-2006 04:26 PM

if thats it i like it.

If there is availble a mirror navigation then Ill wait to do that mode and save me from ripping up my dash to put an obsolete navigation system in my car.

There are lots of mirror monitors out there. Some savvy audio/video tech ought to know how to take care of that for you right now.

That's an X3 interior. The headlight switches on the left, and shape of the left AC hole gives it away. :)

The nav screen on X3 is not shaped or positioned like that. The console is also different. xx3 and Kaefer, who have responded, own X3 and they would have noticed immediately.

I agre. Plus it looks wider than the X3

AzNMpower32 04-11-2006 07:36 PM

Wouldn't you think that BMW's gonna use the start/stop button + key fob combo? I mean, they've done it on every new BMW so far........:tsk:

Juanted 04-11-2006 08:48 PM

Nope... that is not an X3 interior... I have both an X3 and an X5, and that interior is not from either one...

NOC 04-12-2006 08:50 AM

I hope that by now BMW understands that we need a touchscreen that is easeir to use.

Wagner 04-12-2006 08:57 AM

I'm just hoping they offer that truffle/black interior in the states... :)

bozo 04-12-2006 09:00 AM

Is that an "info" screen in the middle of the instrument cluster a-la Audi? I like the pics anyway...

gizmolibero 04-24-2006 08:00 AM
