Well, these are the first pics, I think  , of a maybe real 'new X5'.

Hope you like them and regards from Spain

Wow! Thats quite an introductory post there mi amigo! I think you might be right. I noticed a sharpened back tailgate, and crisp side lines a-la e90.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY, NO PLASTIC TRIM!!! :bmw: Well, at least not on the doors...

benathon 05-09-2006 10:49 AM

I noticed the crisp side lines as well...

That has def got to be the new X for sure so great find!
One thing I like is that the change doesn't seem so drastic to immediately out date our current post 04- on X's

rangerfan 05-09-2006 11:16 AM

Looks great from the side. Thanks for the post!

I agree on that, it seems that with that design, no huge change on design and I could live wih my 01 for a few more years. On that note maybe I will install a Navi.....

Great find! looks similiar to Huckfeldt's pic. No front shots? Thanks for sharing.

Wow, way to be on the shutter. Thanks for posting.

statdoc 05-09-2006 02:25 PM

If that is what the '07 really looks like, I am pleased! Like was said, it doesn't date our current cars too badly, and is a nice evolution of the design.

Good first post, mi amigo!

at4689 05-09-2006 03:31 PM

yeah good post , thankfully it doesnt make my 06 look that old .

bozo 05-09-2006 03:33 PM

Whats the big red thing on the back window? Is that a brake light? :dunno:

Supplemental restraint system for the 3rd row seat?

vinuneuro 05-09-2006 04:04 PM

Welcome, and thanks for the pic!

Interesting choice of tailights; if you look at it from the rear bumper up, it looks just like the e46 2002+ wagon.

Or, maybe the target for those poor midgets or,
the mother-in-law, packed
in the potential "3rd row"?! :)

Some kind of red tape thingy to hide the curve in glass on sides. To absorb the new length of X5 the d-pillar is bigger and the rear glass is curvy on sides. That's my guess.;)

Are these 2 separate X5's in the pix? One has a black gas cap lid, the other doesn't.

I also noticed that. They have to be separate X5s.

06SapphireX5 05-10-2006 11:21 PM

Definitely different, the blackout around the taillight differs as well. One touches the bumper, one does not.

LVR 05-11-2006 12:52 AM

First picture looks like an X3 front grafted on to an X5

Higher wheel arch placement or is that just the angle?

HermannHesse 05-11-2006 07:17 AM

Those pics have been posted too in http://www.carpassion.com/de/forum/e...-bmw-x5-3.html, a german BMW forum.

The original source is unknown  .
The guy who posted them in the spanish forum claims he was getting to Madrid when the X5 appeared. :tsk:
I think those pics have been taken in USA... the plate seems to be an american one and so the green truck in the second pic.
I agree with those saying there're 2 different units.
If you display the properties of the pics, you will see they are imageshack uploads, so no clue about where they came.

And … LeMansX5 nice job with your personal page

Regards.
