Who is seriously planning on trading in the E53 for E70???

I really like the interior but I need time to adapt the exterior. I'm sure I will feel different with the E70 in person. I like all the new features the E70 offers but I don't have the money to get the E70. Just wondering if people here are going to trade in their E53 for a E70 or buy a E70?

I know I will be there to test the E70 though...

IMO you can't judge any new bmw these days without seeing it in person...

I am not impressed with the exterior when I look at the photos. But after seeing it in person I may have a different opinion.

I think the inside is very good.

I will not trade up for at least two years...until all the quirks of the gizmos have been figured out.

Hell yeah, I'll be jumping into one of them. If I dont sell before the official release, then Ill keep my e53 for a couple of years. I always sell a couple months before a release to get as much as I can, or right after the facelift. Once they're (e70's) on the lot, (meaning publicized, and on the lot) thats it. It will be a lot harder to sell. I sold my 2004 e46 325 for 28,200 3 weeks before the e90's were released here. TWO WEEKS later, there were 8 or 9 e46's on the lot for under 24,000 with a buttload more options than mine had. But it is a sellers dream here.

In a few years maybe, if/when the electronics problems (which BMW is bound to have) get worked out.

Where is the "trade in '08 or '09" option?

blondboinsd 08-09-2006 11:51 AM

My Lease is up in 4/08 I believe and I will most likely be buying one (I'm going to of coarse look at current cars and gas prices)

Can't tell yet, need to see it in person, touch and feel it. My lease isn't up until Jan 08 so I have some time to let you guys be guinea pigs and get some feedback before I decide what my next ride will be.

Deposit paid for one already. I expect delivery in UK in May '07.

You left out a few options on your poll, Ben...
but no biggie.

I am curious about pricing: I suspect it is out
of my rationalized ballpark.

No 6 spd manual trans, longer, heavier, and gizmos
up the wazoo.
Too bad, as it really looks fine to my old addled eye.

To all those of you that can/will grab one, I am
slightly envious and wish you GL.

To me, replacing my E53 with an E70 isn't about the release photos, but rather what I need from a vehicle.

I would like a 335 coupe (as well as a refreshed X3 for my wife) but headroom is likely to be too tight. Trying to get down to 2 vehicles.

I wanted an M5, but can't rationalize the fuel consumption, as great as everything else is about it.

I would probably get a 535T (no x) if they made one and imported it, if I could delete the pano roof (looking into it).

I may end up with an E70 in another year for the same reason I bought the E53, simply that it was the best BMW for me at the time. My warranty is up next year, no extended warranty available in Canada, so I will have to do something by mid 2007.
