if i order a new x5..
Hi there ,just wondering if i order a new x5 how long is the waiting period ?
would it be ok just to get the demo unit i hate waiting hehehe |
u'll still proberly be able to get a car in dec if u order now, i think
|
i ordered one of the first x5, couple of years ago, my waiting period was 8 months....
|
here in the uk
I visited my dealer yesterday and was told i was number 40 on their list, which means with a march 07 release, they expect about a 4 car a month per dealership build slot, so we are already looking at a 10 month waiting list already. so 18 months or so. so not so bad as my current 05 x5 took 13 months on order. and it will be 2 and a half years old when i trade it. so think yourself lucky if you only have to wait a few weeks and dont have to pay £50,000 for a diesel. |

probably depends on how picky you are..i buy all of my cars as dealer demos cause the only thing i care about is the color combo really....ill probably pick up the first e70 my dealer gets in March...totally understand about not wanting to wait....;) |
If you order one in Germany now, you will be waiting about 12 months.

There was no waiting list at BMW of SD last time I checked

Depends on your dealer(s). I asked a dealer near me and they said if you order now, they can get you in one by mid next summer. A dealer in Ohio (Solon I think) said December, possibly November if they come a little earlier.
|
today (08/14) my dealer in NJ said he didn't really know but said he thought sep or oct. i told him rumors were nov and he said he didn't really know and hasn't yet received any pricing or delivery dates.
|
What's all this about having to wait a year or more? That's crazy. I live in New Jersey as well and my thinking is the car will be available late 2006... Ordering times shouldn't exceed 3 months and stock will start hitting dealers in October/November so unless you need the super spec'd out version... WHat's the problemo?
|
Oh and the Germany/UK thing taking a little longer makes sense since this vehicle is built in South Carolina,USA and is the exact opposite of most BMW's... the shipments and fulfillment will take a bit longer. But 12 months? From today maybe but don't see it taking that long either.

Hi, new to forum and on my second 3.0d Sport X5. Went into the dealer on saturday to place a deposit on an E70 . Dealer already had my name on the waiting list but needed a proper order. We're after a 'Sport' model but only information out in the UK is on the SE model , however even if we went for an SE the delivery date is...
Dec 2008 ! So we've placed an order and hope someone drops out/changes mind/gives up in the meantime. The only good news is that the 'Sport' pack will be properly defined by then and the much rumoured V8 diesel could make its appearnce! Great site by the way , actually used it at the dealership to show them more pics!! Stu |
Wow, with all these pre-orders for 5000lb road monsters from places where they have $1.50L gasoline....wonder if the guys from XOM and BP are thinking of jacking our prices up...I can just hear the futures guys in London; "Aayyy, those Yanks, ridin' our coattails with thaar cheap petrol---time to take the mickey out them..."
