Too early to talk about Dinan for E70?

First of all, :imnew: but not new to X5's. I had a 4.4, and liked it so much I upgraded to a 4.6is, which I have LOVED - best car I've ever had!

I haven't been active in this forum (barely even a lurker!), but want to be more so in the future, and will try to:
1. contribute more than I ask, and
2. use "Search" before I ask questions!

I already did #2 on this topic, and couldn't find anything, so here are my Qs:

- Any ideas on how long it will take Dinan to come up with kits for the E70?
- Any reason the E70 4.8i would be incapable of handling a Dinan SC (e.g., are the suspension, transmission, etc. up to the task)?

Dinan hasn't come up with much for the '04+ models yet, so I think we're in for a looooong wait...

Dinan is working on engine software for 2006 models now. Spoke with them about two mos ago. They say they are "very excited" about what they have coming. He would not put a time limit on it. So 2007 could be...?

I've heard that for almost 3 years now...

Great! No telling then.

Well since they have for the 4.6 I don't see why not. But they sure are slow to come out with much else lately. Wonder what is up?

I spoke with someone at Dinan recently (can't remember his name), and he said they put their emphasis on kits for racier cars (e.g., M3, M5, Z4, etc.) because that's where the most demand for their products comes from. SUV's are fit in when they have time, but they don't sell nearly as many SUV kits, so they aren't as high a priority.

He parenthetically added something to the effect, "Why would anybody want 450hp in an SUV anyway - it's not like you're gonna take it to the track and race it!" :swear:

Obviously, he doesn't understand those of us who love our X5's AND love power! :excited:
