this X5 was very nice in person & being delivered today to it new owner... but $62,000 for a 3.0 sport... wtf.

the sport seats in grey looked great... finally a heated steering wheel option with the sport pkg. :) it also had 19s.

Looks great. Congratulations on the purchase.

I have a feeling that BMW is catching on that the X series is incredibly prolific, jacking up the price at the height of it's popularity is going to make BMW some serious coin.... what it's also going to do is price a lot of people out of the market and make X's more exclusive again. Either way BMW wins.

:iagree:

I don't understand the complaints about pricing. There has been so much anticipation of this model, why wouldn't the price be up? Isn't it better to have BMW profitable, and investing in new models? Consider the alternatives for just a moment. I hope that they get rich, and come up with an even better model next.

All the naysayers should wait and see how many new E70s are parked on dealer's lots looking for buyers. Not going to happen for quite a while yet.

I think they are already rich and financially very stable, being #1 since 2004. I hope they have pumped money in enough research so that there are no first year bugs.

I could not have said it better myself, at this point BMW is just taking advantage of the strong position they are in (maybe a little 2 much).
Somuch for the contreversial styling! Everyone raves about the E53 (WITH GOOD REASON) but IMO this is a better product and the price should be higher.The price on the original x5 was set 7 years ago and has changed little since.INFLATION is a bitch!!!THAT E70 ABOVE IS A BEAUTY!;pervert;

At that price, the GL450 is a far far superior vehicle in my opinion.

BMW upgraded the materials used on the X3 to X5 quality, it was inevitable that the price would go up.

Thunder22 11-28-2006 12:35 PM

Looking at the other thread about the 4.8 X5, it's incredible that an x3 can be more expensive than a 4.8.

blondboinsd 11-28-2006 01:00 PM

It priced mine out comparable to my current X5 and it was really not that much more

sinX5 11-28-2006 11:16 PM

In Canada 3.0 starts at 61k.

vinuneuro 11-28-2006 11:54 PM

I don't see what the complaining is about. An E53 3.0i loaded up came very close to 60k. Now there are even more options to increase the price..
