iPOD interface
 

Does the new E70 have an iPOD interface? If so, is it similar to the Merc ML where you have to specify the 6 disc CD changer to get the required connection?

No interface yet ! According to my dealer the kit will be available in a few months.BMW WAS NOT READY 2 RELEASE THE NEW X5 IT SEEMS AND ARE LOOKING STUPID IN THE PROCESS. (HD radio,power gate,colors,ect...):smackass:

I read somewhere that BMW and Apple are working on a much better interface than the current one, therefore the delay.

Are the interfaces for the ipods and the changers Alpine?

I am looking at ordering the HiFi package but do not need the changer unless the ipod adapter can be used in parallel with it.

Alpine sells a device that allows for both a changer and a ipod to be connected at the same time using the Alpine AI-net type devices(connection types). I hear bus mentioned a lot with regard to the changers/Ipod interfaces (on previous models). Does anyone here have a pic on the connector to the changer or the back of the changer?

Bad News ...
The E70 X5 is now on the French BMW wed Site . It is clearly mentioned that the Ipod Interface REPLACES the CD Charger. ( You need to choose between the CD Charger and the Ipod)

I have no problem with that. CD changers are so 20th century!
