Special Lease Program For E70 To Begin In January???

Recieved a call today from my sales rep to tell me my E70 (4.8i) would be ready friday dec 22 and that the payment would be $1365.00 a month!
(36/15k MSRP 66,795.00) Please don't ask me how he got that # we didn't get that far.He also said that if I wait until the new year to pick up the X5 BMW would have a lease program in place that would drop my monthly payment by $200.00 or $300.00 but could not or would not confirm.
Insider info maybe???? This guy has always been honest with me and has sold bimmers to our family forever. Why would he bring it up if it was not true? Afterall he's only trying to save me money.
What do you guys think???
I GUESS I'M STILL WAITING!!

If that is true it would put them in line with the Mercedes Lease program.

Yes, with the current rates and residuals, a nicely equipped 3.0si is around $900 per month and a 4.8i $1200 per month with fees due at lease signing.

That is INSANE money. Do you at least get a happy ending on the drive home after getting robbed?

those prices are for leases? good god!

It will be interesting to see how the lease price drops a year from now when the 'gotta-have-it' crew have bought/leased and the dealers ahave a few X's languishing on the lot

I agree with Boston. I'll wait until the New Year to see what comes along. I change vehicles every 3 years and although I turned my last one in a month ago, I have a second vehicle to drive until things settle down a bit. After the introduction and the winter weather is over, I'm betting there will be some better program available. On the other hand, the lease rate is typically driven by demand. If it is high, you can expect the lease rates to stay high as well. A spike in gas prices and a softening of the SUV/SAV market would help in that regard. Now if Bush can just find another oil producing country ....

I have to believe that as they notice people walking away from leasing, they'll drop rates pretty quickly. Don't rush into it if you dont have to, drag it out until Jan or Feb if possible.

I should just buy it then if the lease prices are gonna be that way or i'll just wait until mid 2007 to lease one. No rush.

There is NO way I would pay over 800 for an X5 NOT when a RR is 1400 or a SL500 is 1300 ish, NO friggin WAY! :P
