ouch ... a new X5 crunch...

story...
Some moron ran a red light last night and I hit him in the rear end with the right side of my brand new, 10 day old X5. It crumpled up quite nicely. I lost the entire lower spoiler and my right headlights completely popped out. In case anyone is wondering, the fenders are completely made out of plastic. The hood looks the be aluminum.

Ouch!

Funny, I saw my first E70 actually on the road today (I think.........maybe I saw one awhile ago and I forgot). No offense, it stood out as being overweight and lookin kinda chubby, not hunkered down, chiseled good looks, or sporty BMW-like.

Outta curiosity, how fast/hard was that impact? That's a surprising amount of damage for "clipped someone's rear end".

Sucks.

Crashes are never good. And it sucks even more that this was a brand new car...

Hope all is o.k., and that your E70 gave its life instead of taking yours along with it...

Are the 07s the first year that X5s are made out of plastic with an aluminum hood?
