Just picked up my Space Grey 4.8i X5

I live in northern california and we just picked up a 4.8i X5. I have pictures but I haven't uploaded them. I didnt find it too difficult to get one, I didnt pre-order the vehicle or anything....I just called last week, found out when it was coming and bought it when it came in. anyways, it drives nice. It's fully loaded and we tried out the park assist camera...it's not bad but it's going to take a little getting used to and to able to trust it.

Anyways, if anyone has questions about the 4.8i let me know. We drove it home (about 100 miles from the dealership where we got it at) and it drove pretty damn well on the freeway.

Specs: everything but ventilated seats. we have the 20's on them, and all the packages.

The E70's aren't hard to find, dealers aren't moving them. My dealer has 6, yes 6, 4.8i X5's sitting on the lot right now. Post pics when you can.

I also like the Space Gray. What color did you pick inside ? I will get black.
I am from Europe and I will order mine in Feb / March. (With a Diesel Engine). I am flying next week to San Fransciso where I will see the X5 for the first time !

Why not moving them? Price not good enough or due to the economy at the monent?

Especially with such a low residual value, BMW will have to do something to move them. Lease payment on a 4.8is is like $1,500/mo.

For my dealer I think it is the fact that the 6 4.8 X5's they have are all over 70K while a 2006 4.8is is sitting on their lot at 71K.

IMO, dealers loaded there orders with options they thought would be popular, at least in my area, and they are finding that people aren't rushing in to pay for those options. Eventually they will start selling IMO once buyers price them around the mid to low 60's. Which is pretty well setup for the new X5 if you use BMWUSA.com.
