Build and Delivery question
 

I ordered my X5 10 weeks ago and they told me the build date was in January and delivery in Febuary approximately the 15th. They gave me a production number and I have checked with the dealer and there is no new information on the build. Dealer tells me that it takes a month after build to delivery. I have asked for the VIN# and they do not have one yet. Dealer says that Feb. 15th looks like it is holding for approx. delivery date. Question is, when do they assign a VIN#? and if I am supposed to take delivery mid Febuary should the order not be already scheduled or something at this late date? If what the Dealer is telling me is true then my X5 would have to be built within the next 15 days. I can't believe it would not be already scheduled. Can anyone shed some light on the factory procedure and status info.? I am in Canada so we cannot check status on the Ownwea Circle.

My x5 completed production on 11/28 and I still don't have it.

never got a vin from my dealer, i mean u can't check it in canada anyways, my car is on rail now and should be arriving to vancouver next sat according to the dealer, can't wait

I ordered on the Dec. 21 and I have no build number yet. I am getting a 335 in the USA. This is a good link to help understand how it works, not sure if will help much for Canada but it's a start for you.

How long does it take to build an X5?. 3-5 days?
