What Should I Do
Here is the scenario; my e70 will be done next week. I can have it delivered to me within 2 weeks at my dealership. I also made reservations to pick up my car in SC. However, I would have to wait until March 2nd in order to pick it up there. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

pick up at your dealership. and question, why does it take so much longer to pick up your car in SC? it only takes 8 eight weeks to ship the car from germany to US
|
That was the only date they could work out since I wanted it on a Friday
|
Wait and pick it up. The 4 week delay will be rewarded with many years of memories. It's a great time!

You'll have a blast if you pick it up in SC, those memories will last a lifetime. The ability to track an X5 and go thru the offroad trail is a lot of fun. The entire experience is first class and I am planning to it everytime I buy a new BMW.
BTW not sure if its been mentioned on this board or not, but for other BMWs, both ED AND PCD delivery are now available. Not only can you pay less for your car, but you can ride the autobahn, test yourself at Nurburgring, and have all the fun in SC! Unfortunately BMW was a couple of months to late for me :( |
Get it from the dealer. :)

siga,
If you need the car sooner, grab it at the Stlr. If you can wait and the geographic logistics aren't a prob., I would rec'd the BMW Plant delivery based on all the great experiences I've read here. If I got another BMW, I would try for that ED & SC combo. GL on your pick. Note to Mr JCReed: the X5 is built in SC, USA not Germany. BR,mD |

To the OP, if you really can't wait, then pick it up at the dealership. Otherwise the SC Perf. delivery is much worth it, second only to an ED experience (which you can't do on an X5 of course). |
