My 4.8i is delayed
 

Just got off the phone with my salesperson and he told me my 4.8i is in production but delayed. He says he will call me back on what option is causing the hold up. Mine was supposed to be a late December build with early to mid-January delivery.

Anyone waiting on theirs?

Mine was a November build. It just arrived this afternoon. I pick it up tomorrow.

Did they put it on a barge pulled by a team of mules?

I'm curious - which dealer are you going through? - I live on the north shore...

Well, finally getting closer to getting my E70. My dealer tells me they can put a "factory rush" on the order and get it to me early to mid-March. Since I paid for sunshades but that option got deleted, I will ask if they can substitute the USB port to compensate.

good news. My E70 is at the dealer. Incredibly fast delivery, produced last monday, which was the 5th of February. I will probably pick it up next Monday.

TrueX5er- Very cool! Ours was finished 2/8 and we are in Ohio so hopefully that means it won't be too long before it's here! The BMW NA hotline still says it's "waiting to be released to the carrier" though. Getting excited! :rofl:

If you are checking online, that is pretty outdated. That's what it said for me, and it's obviously not true! :) Yours should arrive any day now!
I'll take delivery and post pics on Monday, I think.

Mine still has status 50 and its been a week ( in prod ) but an email has been sent to distribution to find out the updated status....anxious wait !!!

TrueX5er- Yes, the online tracker actually says it's still "scheduled for production". The 1-800 # for BMW NA seems to be more accurate and that's the one that says the X5 is waiting to be released to the carrier.

Yes, call the 800 number, and after it says your status, ask to speak with a customer service person. They have exact info.

I spoke to a customer service rep at the 1-800 # who said that they don't track the car past "Production is complete. Your vehicle is waiting to be released to the carrier." He said I will just keep getting that message. We were told to call the dealer for more details. Hopefully someone will call today!

Found out today mine went into production on 7 Feb. Now I just need to haggle with the dealer over the trade-in and the rear sunshades. When I ordered my E70, the rear climate package included the sunshades.

so you ordered your car, but you want to wait for the sunshades now?

i guess if they didn't know about the changes in the rear climate, i guess they would allow to refuse the car

I think X5Boston meant that he wanted to be compensated for the lack of sunshades. I don't think that's an unreasonable request! I would expect them to give you some form of credit.
