2008 X5

Hi everyone I'm new here, but certainly not new to the BMW family. I currently have an X3. I was looking into trading it in for the new X5, but certain things make me wonder if I should wait. Will the 2008 X5 6 cylinder recieve the turbo engine? My dealer was unsure about this. The only thing he was somewhat certain of was that the 2008 won't be out til late October. Please let me know if any of you have any info about this. Thanks!

I believe the turbo will appear within the next two years. I don't like turbos, IMO. I should be nice, though.

Well, the redone 5 series gets the 535i using the TT motor. I would assume it is definitely coming to the X5 lineup, just a question of when, if it is 2008 it will be mid-year.

Pricing on the current X5 is high probably better off waiting for the 2008 model.

300 pound feet of torque at 1400 rpm - very interesting. The 4.8 has 350 - but at 3400 rpm. That is stump pulling.

While both are really 3 litres, they are not the same engine.
