X5 Boy:

I ordered my X5 in late-December from an Orange County dealer. Owner's Circle shows it leaving production last week and currently ready for transport (obtained thru BMW Phone Center). Everything is apparently moving ahead according to the schedule laid out by my salesman.

As my X5 is a 3.0, perhaps the delay has something to do with the 4.8's.

I was about to deal with BMWSF, but they won't give me any discounts off MSRP. BMWSF said, "We have the best service compared to other Bay Area BMW dealerships, but we can't give you a discount." I said, "What ever....." Are there any bad rumors of BMWSF? I will be bring my car there for schedule services.

they are very pretentious...

i always have my car serviced there. they have a lot of loaners, but then again, they have a large clientel. when in for service ask for Filipe Alfaro.

try peter pan...they're sort of small, so they don't have the "we don't care if you buy here or not, we'll sell it anyway" attitude

Thanks for the update. As always, I'm dealing with the fleet manager. I hate dealing with salespeople. Too much BS and time. We (xoutpost.com members) know more than the salespeople. He's selling it to me for invoice +$3,500.00. With all my options, I saved about $2,200.00 of MSRP.

I service my current 01 X5 3.0 there too. BMWSF have been OK. My passenger door window track broke 1 day before the warranty expired. I called it in, but I didn't show up until couple days after and they still repaired it under warranty. Thanks, I'll ask for Filipe Alfaro next time.

BMWSF is usually very conscious of their approval rating for service.

Filipe is the greatest. Nice and will acknowledge everything you say (don't really have to prove your problems...well some) and then some.

BMW Phone Center?
I only know about the BMWOC site. Please explain!

...meaning BMW North America (800-831-1117). You can get up-to-date production information on your car by entering the production number.
