which color
which color should i pick and what are the cons or pros. jet black or black sapphire. thanks guys.
Jet Black! Nothing looks better than a clean jet black car. Saphire looks like there is always a dirty film on top of the car. I had the same issue when trying to decide.
thanks!
anyone else?
Jet Black! :)
We chose Black Sapphire because a family member recently purchased a Jet Black 328xi and says that it's REALLY hard to keep clean. Since this will be a daily driver, it is going to get dirty. If you don't mind the dirt factor, go with Jet Black... it's very sharp!
Jet Black is more of a matte finish whereas black sapphire metallic is more glossy. Having experienced both, jet black shows scratch and swirl marks a thousand times faster and worse than the black sapphire metallic. Personally I'd take a car that always looked a little dirty (can't wash it daily after all) versus a car that looked all scratched up.

The metallic has so much more depth. Hands down Sapphire...soo much more classy.
Black Sapphire!!! it's shinier and when it comes to it...shiny is good :D
sapphire!! i have it and it is awesome!!
I guess black sapphire it is winning 5to 2 over jet black thanks guys!!!!

Mine is black sapphire, but it's really hard to see the metal flake in pictures. Take a look here... http://www.xoutpost.com/detailing-for...ics-added.html |

Black saphire

For a 3-series or small car, Jet Black. For a X5, Black Sapphire Metallic.
no no no...
Carbon Black all the way...just wait for the M sports package.
Black at night and metallic blue by day. Have it on the M3 I am trading in for the X5 (Space Grey). Had I even known about the carbon black coming along, I would have waited to place the order. Oh well, when the 3.0d makes it to NA, I'll go back to it. If the choice is between blacks...I would go with Jet black, much richer, glossier when clean. The metallic seems to mute the deep lustre that a black car should have. IMHO. Tough choice! |
who has pictures of bronze and saddle brown ??????????????

still no one ???? and yes i saw this one http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...light=platinum |
the metallic of course!
I have sapphire black on my 3 year old E53 and was not happy with the way little scratches show up. I'm going with jet black on my new E70
I'm going now for platinum bronze on my new E70 sd (twin turbo), instead of space gray

COOL! Are you sure? ;) I need to see pictures of the platinum bronze + sattle brown. Please members post pictures if you have some! |
There is no "easier to keep clean" black color. If you have to ask that then you might not want to get any kind of black. I have Jet Black on my e53 and it's not hard to keep clean and looks much more crisp/mirror-like than Sapphire which looks more "milky". Put the 2 together side by side and you will notice a difference.

We have Sapphire black, but wish we have Alpine white :D
So hard to keep it clean. |
black sapphire rocks!
any pics of this carbon black color that's been mentioned??
