My new E70 3.0si
6 Attachment(s)
I finally took delivery of my first BMW. Thanks to everyone of the forum - the posts really helped me get exactly what I wanted/needed. So, here are my initial impressions regarding my 2007 X5 3.0si (ZPP, ZSP, ZRC, 609, and 322):
1) Sports package is a must. Seats, Anthracite, adaptive suspension, etc. The ride is not harsh (IMO) and keep in mind that this is the primary transit for my 7 month old son. 2) Comfort Access is working flawlessly... it is so easy to use. My only gripe (from my understanding) is that the battery doesn't recharge... it must be changed out, unlike the regular key which will recharge from the ignition. 3) I was happy that my SAV came wth Michelin tires... just a brand preference. 4) still on my first tank of gas, so not sure on mpg. 5) More than plenty of power - but I was coming from a Honda Accord. 6) I am still waiting for locks and mats! In the meantime, the dealer let me have some antracite mats until the beige come in. Overall, I am very pleased with this vehicle. Key Fob will charge in slot.
Is that Monaco Blue? Nice! (Oh, and Fyi, it's best to resize your images. They won't be pixelated that way) |

Actually... The remote will NOT charge if you have the comfort access feature.
The remote comes with a battery you must replace on your own. Page 38 of the manual advises that when you get a message regarding the battery you need to replace the battery. I wondered why BMW would not let us comfort access owners charge our remotes like everyone else. And now, after driving 1,200 miles I figured it out. I never plug the remote in the dash! So it would not charge on a regular basis. This must not be good for a remote that needs to be charged. The remote would be very expensive to replace if the battery did not hold a charge anymore. |
Enjoy.
